Artist's Description

This is a 12-mile long glacier in Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska. It is an advancing tidewater glacier of the Fairweather Range, which begins on the east slopes of Lituya Mountain and Mount Salisbury -- appearing in the background. It was named after Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

About John Hight

John Hight

My passion is photography, and I love capturing the beauty of our world. This enthusiasm began when I took a college course in photography. After graduation, my career in engineering limited the time I could set aside for photography ... mostly weekends and vacations. Since my retirement from Intel Corporation in 2011, I have re-energized my devotion and taken up my career as an artist/photographer traveling to beautiful locations and capturing that magnificence with my camera. I hope you enjoy my gallery and will want to take an image of this beautiful land into your home.
