This is a beautiful crystal clear glacial lake in California's Lassen Volcanic National Park. When the light is right, you can see into its depths. In this photo Lake Helen is in the foreground ... with Lassen Peak in the center, Eagle Peak on the left and the base of Mount Helen on the right in the background. The clear water of Lake Helen gives the illusion that the reflections of the peaks are rising up from the bottom of the lake. The lake is named after Helen Tanner Brodt, who in 1864 was the first woman to reach the summit of Lassen Peak.
My passion is photography, and I love capturing the beauty of our world. This enthusiasm began when I took a college course in photography. After graduation, my career in engineering limited the time I could set aside for photography ... mostly weekends and vacations. Since my retirement from Intel Corporation in 2011, I have re-energized my devotion and taken up my career as an artist/photographer traveling to beautiful locations and capturing that magnificence with my camera. I hope you enjoy my gallery and will want to take an image of this beautiful land into your home.
